Bright Instrument

SAS R&D were able to explain the whole process, whilst also translating my innovation into a coherent technical narrative.

Bright Instrument Co. is a privately-owned business that was incorporated in 1937. The company supplies a quality range of cryostats, microtomes, freezing units and accessories to pathology, histopathology, immunology, life sciences, research and industrial testing & quality control laboratories world-wide.

The company have established a reputation for imagination, innovation and determination, supported by an ability to deal with some of the largest and best known research and medical institutions in the world.

 

From holding detailed discussions with the technical experts at Brights, we were able to identify various qualifying projects, such as those given below.

Brain Machine

Design and manufacture of human brain sectioning machine that is capable of performing cuts on a scale and a consistency that no other product on the market has been able to achieve.

OTF 6000

Development of an improved mechanism that can be retrospectively fitted to original designs and offers a commercially viable solution to the issue of decontamination caused by condensation and water droplets.

We were able to identify £415,606 of qualifying expenditure for R&D purposes, resulting in cash repayments of £138,613.

SAS R&D have now recovered £203,262 in R&D tax credits. This cash refund has enabled significant ongoing development activity to help grow the business.
